Synopsis
9 year-old Sarah is quietly discovering love when an assault derails her sexual awakening. Summer 2000 is an intimate and delicate tale in which the play between different mediums offers an insight into gender performativity and consent.

Virginie Nolin
Screenwriter and director, Virginie Nolin is doing a Master's degree in Cinematic Arts which addresses sexuality and the body with a feminist-queer perspective. She directed the short films Summer 2000, OK and Sleeping Longing, all screened internationally. She is currently developing her first feature film, the adaptation of Mikella Nicol's novel, Aphélie.
Laurence Olivier
Laurence Olivier is a writer and filmmaker. Her film Phantom poem was awarded the Best experimental short prize at Vues dans la tête de (2023), and her novel Répertoire des villes disparues (Herbes rouges, 2015) was adapted for the screen by Denis Côté (Ghost Town Anthology, 2019).
